Carterville Baseball Playing for Regional Championship Saturday

CARTERVILLE — The Carterville Lions squeaked by Murphysboro Wednesday night 5-4 to get to the championship of their own regional Saturday morning.  And for one of the smallest schools in Class 3A, the Lions know they have to have everything go right to keep going in the postseason.

Carterville baseball coach Bobby Jackson says they need to make sure they are always on their A-game, and hope the aspects of the game they can’t control fall their way too.

The winner of the Carterville / (Carbondale / Herrin) matchup Saturday will face the winner of Mascoutah and (Triad / Highland) in the Salem Sectional on Wednesday night.
