IHSA Proposal to Reverse Football District Scheduling Sent Out to Member Schools

ILLINOIS — The IHSA has sent out its winter list of proposals to be voted on by member schools. One proposal on the list includes reversing last year’s vote on districts in football and continuing football scheduling as is.

Proposal 15’s summary reads: “Removes the by-law directing the IHSA to implement a football scheduling system for regular-season varsity games, impacting the current ability for schools to schedule games and qualify for the playoffs as it is currently administered.”

Schools will be able to vote on the proposal from December 2 through the 16th, with ballot results posted on December 17th. A simple majority of yes or no votes will determine if the proposal passes.
